The Presidential Advisor, in charge of Darfur File, Dr. Ghazi Salahuddeen Atabani and the accompanying delegation left yesterday for the Qatari capital, Doha. He said, in press statements at Khartoum International Airport yesterday,
that the visit comes at the invitation of the joint mediation and State of Qatar, sponsors of talks between the government and the armed forces in Darfur, for the purpose of consultation on peace efforts.
On his part, the member of the delegation, Dr. Amin Hassan Omer affirmed the readiness of the government to resume negotiations at the specific date saying that the visit aims to unify the armed movements position with regard to the peace talks besides programs and plans to consolidate the dialogue with the Darfurian civil society organizations.
On the exerted efforts to attract the western circles, he said that the west is not monolithic, there are differences in visions, but the control of the Israeli lobby on the western strategy, and media machine always cast negative shadows on the decision- making.
