The office of the Vice President of the Government of Southern Sudan, Salva Kiir Mayardit, has released a statement saying that Mr Riek Machar, Vice President of the Government of South Sudan, and Mr Ali Osman Muhammed Taha, Sudanese Vice President, met late on Tuesday night in Khartoum. The statement said that the two leaders discussed the Census results as well as the issues facing the upcoming Sudan general elections.
It also said that Machar and Taha explored the possibility of increasing seats for South Sudan in the next parliament. The leaders are scheduled to meet again on Wednesday.
