(SV) The Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly, NCP leading figure Mohammed Al- Hassan Al-Amin downplayed impacts of the ICC expected rulings on the process of the elections and the campaign of the President of the Republic after the appeal of its Prosecutor General to the charge of genocide. He strongly criticized, in an interview with the Sudan Vision, published later, the statements of the United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki- moon on the ICC adding "What he says is beyond his jurisdictions as the said court is not one of his organizations and that it represents only its members" referring to the controversy already about its establishment. Al-Amin said that the movements of the ICC are flagrant and cannot do anything, citing its previous resolutions that have not carried out saying that "everything is in its natural course and we are not a party in the Court". On the withdrawal of the NCP for the nomination as head of government of the south and the interpretation of the said step by some opposition forces that the party does not have a figure acceptable in the south, Al-Amin said that his party wanted to preserve the CPA by keeping Salva in office and to avoid instability in case of another candidate winning and SPLA domination in the south. He downloaded the movements of the opposition in Juba in case they agree for one presidential candidate against the candidate of his party saying,"The multiplicity of candidates is most likely to influence his party, not a single candidate", denying accusations that mentioned by some of the opposition that his party exploits the state's resources in the electoral campaign, pointing out that his party has the capability and organizational structure and is widely spread more than all the parties. On the conduction of the elections on the fixed date, Al-Amin affirmed that the elections will be held on time despite the challenges facing them but he does rule out rejection by SPLM as it dominates the South explaining that if that occurs, the election law stipulates that the presidency has to discuss other options in the part that has not been carried out. On the dialogue between his party and the Popular Congress Party, he ruled out resumption of dialogue between them on the political issues indicating to the possibility to resume that on the intellectual and general national issues such as issues of Muslims in the south and the world challenges facing Muslims.
