Carter center denies calling for election postponement
(Mirayafm)

The Field Director of Carter center, Mr Graham Ellison, has denied that the center called for the postponement of elections in Sudan, but he said the center mentioned some technical problems that need to be resolved before the elections. Ellison told Miraya that the center advised the National Elections Commission to find solutions to those problems.

Meanwhile, the National Elections Commission criticized a recent report by the Carter Center saying that report lacks credibility and based on fake sources. Carter Center is one of the international observers of the upcoming elections.

Meanwhile, a member of the monitoring unit in the National Elections Commission, Sanna Hassan, told Miraya that any talks of delaying the elections is not within the mandate of international observers.

Earlier, while launching his elections campaign on Monday in Port Sudan, the candidate of the National Congress party for the position of President of the Republic, Omer Al Bashir, has warned international organizations observing the upcoming elections that they would face expulsion from Sudan if they intervened in the country's affairs.
