The commissioner of Akobo County in Jongolei State, Mr. Goi Jok yol, has confirmed that forceful disarmament brought about change despite the behavior of some individuals hiding their weapons for unexplained reasons.
Yol said his county is experiencing many problems including tribal clashes, cattle raiding, as well as secret killings across the South Sudan-Ethiopian border by unidentified individuals. Commissioner Yol also said he was very concern about the security situation in the county during and after the upcoming general elections.
Speaking to radio Miraya in an exclusive interview in Akobo County, Commissioner Yol complained of low agricultural production and the poor harvest situation in the County which according to him is due to poor rainfall in the region of late and last year. He said, his citizens are lacking provision of essential services due to inaccessible roads to the area.
